TPC Potomac at Avenel Farm is one of several private clubs in southern Montgomery County just outside the DC Beltway.
TPC Potomac: They Tried and Tried Again
TPC Potomac at Avenel Farm is the most recent incarnation of the TPC course in Potomac, Maryland. The original course at this location was known as TPC Avenel and the local PGA Tour event for several years. But the pros were never fans of the course and it was decided to do a thorough redesign. $20 million was spent on the renovation that opened in 2009, based on a design that included input from Tom Fazio, Pete Dye, Fred Funk and Davis Love III.

TPC Potomac at Avenel Farm and its associated surrounding community were built on an extensive chunk of land in southern Montgomery County. (It's 1.3 miles between the two most separated greens on the course.) The clubhouse is under a mile north of the Potomac River and less than two miles from the American Legion Memorial Bridge that takes the Beltway across the river.
