18 holes of daily fee (i.e. open for play by the public) golf in northern Montgomery County, designed by Arthur Hills
Public Golf in Northern Montgomery County Since 2001
Blue Mash opened in 2001 with 18 holes of golf designed by famous architect Arthur Hills. The course has a reasonable mix of holes, with several that have a wide-open links-style feel to them, a few that travel into the woods on the eastern edge of the property and a couple where water definitely comes into play. Alternatively to paying the day's current rate, the Blue Mash Pass to get a discount and some other benefits for pre-paying for rounds. The Players Pass is an annual fee program that gives participants discounts at Blue Mash and Waverly Woods Golf Course near Ellicott City.
Opportunities for Learning and Competing
The pro staff at Blue Mash would be happy to join you out on the driving range, practice putting green or short-game practice area for some private instruction. Younger golfers can take advantage of summer golf clinics. There are several leagues scheduled for some fun competition during the golf-playing months.

Where There's Some Land For Golf
Located about four miles northwest of Olney, Blue Mash is in a part of Montgomery County where the residential density isn't quite so, well, dense. The developers of Blue Mash weren't the only folks to make the decision to put a golf course in this area, Montgomery Country Club and Laytonsville Golf Course are within two miles of here. People who live in the Baltimore-Washington megalopolis are used to dealing with traffic, so there are hundreds of thousands who would consider traveling out to Blue Mash to be "reasonable" (your mileage may vary, as they say).

Bionic Golf Gloves
Yeah, the name is a little goofy and they're a bit pricey. However, they're extremely comfortable and last a loooong time compared to standard-issue golf gloves.
