Although Norbeck Country Club says it's the "centerpiece of the Rockville community" - apparently using the US Postal Service's rather wide definition of "Rockville". The club is located about a mile west of Georgia Avenue and just north of the Intercounty Connector, so we'd say it's more like a southwest "suburb" of Olney.
Regardless of what you call it, Norbeck CC is very much at the center of Montgomery County. The club's course opened in 1954 and is two first downs over 7,000 yards from the tips. When the weather isn't suitable for outdoor golf, Norbeck members have access to the indoor simulated variety in the Golf Lounge.
Other amenities include casual and "upscale" dining, swimming, tennis and a fitness center.
