Despite its rather municipal-sounding name,
Bretton Woods is a private club located next to the Potomac River in western Montgomery County. Ed Ault provided the original design for the 18-hole par 71 golf course, with more recent updates designed by Joel Weiman. Five sets of tees play from 5,246 to 6,995 yards. Members also get access to facilities for swimming, racquet sports, soccer, basketball and volleyball. Bretton Woods is 12 miles west of Rockville and 20 miles northwest of downtown DC.
