Oak Creek Club was originally part of a "private, gated country club" community in the less-populated eastern portion of Prince George's County but the course opened to public play in 2015. Although the Oak Creek golf course winds its way through the homes in the community, there are still parts of the course completely surrounded by the native forests. The course measures a little over 7,100 yards from the backmost tees.
