DuPont Country Club is located a few miles north of downtown Wilmington and offers 54 holes of golf in addition to many other amenities for members.
Delaware's Most Famous Golf Courses
The club opened in 1920 but golf at DuPont Country Club began with a 9-hole course that opened in 1922. That layout didn't last long, as the club hired Donald Ross to design an 18-hole replacement in 1924. Over the years the club expanded and replaced courses until arriving at the current 54 holes. The "Championship Course" was the site of the LPGA Championship for many years. The other full-length course is called the "Nemours Course", while the "Montchanin Course" is a par 61 executive length layout.
Originally limiting membership to DuPont company employees, DuPont Country Club opened to non-employees in the late 1990's. Besides the golf courses and a large golf practice facility, current amenities include a fitness center, swimming pool, tennis and pickleball.

DuPont Country Club is located just west of US Route 202 less than five miles north of downtown Wilmington. It was built for use by employees of the DuPont company on a large tract of land owned by the DuPont family. The family's Nemours Estate and the Nemours Children's Hospital are located just south of the club.
