After starting life as a non-descript 9-hole layout, the golf course at Swan Point Yacht & Country Club got a major upgrade in the late 1980's when the owners brought in golf architect Bob Cupp to design an 18-hole course. The resulting layout takes full advantage of the location, with 12 holes having marshland or other water hazards in play. The club offers memberships as well as daily-fee play.
Swan Point is located on its namesake piece of land on the Potomac River, about 45 miles south of the DC beltway. In addition to great golf, the club has a marina and a clubhouse that's available for weddings.
