Very much a residential-centric golf course, Hampshire Greens is surrounded by a community with which it shares a name. Lots of nice homes visible throughout your round.

Getting To Know Hampshire Greens Golf Course

Hampshire Greens opened in June of 1999. It's one of the nine public golf facilities operated by Montgomery County. There are four sets of tees from which to choose, with a manly 6,837 yard length from the Black tees. The clubhouse seats up to 80 for after-round food and drinks at the Hampshire Greens Grille, while an outdoor pavilion can handle 200 for events hosted at the course.

Public Golf Course in Eastern Montgomery County

Hampshire Greens is located near communities with pleasant names like Cloverly and Ashton in eastern Montgomery County. It's bordered on the south by Route 198 (Norbeck Road/Spencerville Road), which connects the area with Burtonsville, Laurel, Maryland City and Fort Meade to the east. New Hampshire Avenue (Route 650) is on the east edge of the course and provides access from Colesville, White Oak, Langley Park and DC to the south.

Non-golf tip: If you live in the area and enjoy a bit of driving, you should try traversing the full length of New Hampshire Avenue from the Columbia Heights neighborhood in DC to the miniature community named Sunshine in northern Montgomery County. Contrasts abound.
