About Clifton Park

Clifton Park Golf Crouse is a very amateur-friendly course with four sets of tees playable from 5,211 to 5,906 yards. It is part of the "Classic 5" courses operated by the Baltimore Municipal Golf Corporation. The other courses are Carroll Park, Forest Park, Mount Pleasant and Pine Ridge. An annual "Player Card" is available for discounts at the city courses.

Public Golf Since 1915

Clifton Park was the first public golf course in Baltimore, opening in 1915. The park upon which the course was built was originally part of the grounds of the Clifton Mansion, built in 1802. Johns Hopkins (the man, not the university) later bought the mansion and transformed it into the "Italianate villa" that served as his summer place. The park lands now include the golf course, tennis courts, athletic fields, and Lake Clifton High School.

Balls can be expensive. There's nothing wrong with taking a few seconds to pull a ball or two out of one of those bleeping "penalty areas".
